In 1979 I got my first job in television production at local Atlanta station, WSB. Soon after, CNN was in preproduction and was hiring. With my experience as a former medical researcher at Emory University School of Medicine, I attracted the eye of CNN’s first TV doctor who hired me as his researcher/gofer. I learned everything about television news production and journalism on the job. It was a good education; in 1980 we were privileged to be lead by news veterans of the national networks and major newspapers around the country who had come to CNN to be present at the beginning of this new 24-hour phenomenon.
Every day I apply the same skills I acquired at CNN in research, communication, producing and writing as well as managing a team of experienced journalists to my independent work. Whether I am producing my own documentaries or creating a film for a client, I make sure the information is accurate yet portrayed in a compelling style that makes sense to the viewer and tells a story.
In addition to producing documentaries and social networking videos, I also capture the performance work of other artists and document conferences, seminars and events of all kinds.
